On October 6, 2018, I'll celebrate my fortieth birthday. The next day, I'll run headlong into my new decade with my first marathon in the city I've come to love.
To mark the day, I wanted to do something meaningful, something to express gratitude for all that I've been given in my life. Some of my favorite lessons and memories are from the thirteen years I spent as a Girl Scout - from Daisies to my Gold Award as a Senior - and so for the race I will be running as part of the charity team to support the work of Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
I hope you'll join me in supporting this worthy cause - especially the lives of these girls - as I run the 2018 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
Please celebrate with me and help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button...the deadline ahead of the race is September 15.
Thank you for your generosity. My life is richer because you're in it and I'm thankful for each and every one of you; I'll be thinking of you with every step. Thank you for your support!
